Chat fiction rewards episodes over one-offs. A single conversation is a scene; five of them with the same characters is a story people follow, and the second video always outperforms the first because the audience arrives already knowing who is who. Keep the cast small, keep the names consistent, and end each part on an unanswered message rather than a resolution.
Prose that reads well often plays slowly as video. Cut any line that exists to explain something the interface already shows, and cut narration entirely where a read receipt or a typing indicator does the same job. The rule of thumb: if a line would still make sense as a real text someone actually sent, keep it; if it sounds like a narrator, it belongs in the caption instead.
