Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you sign up with email, we collect your email address and password (stored securely hashed). If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides your verified email address, account identifier, and display name. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We retain your Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.
Usage data: We collect product analytics such as pages visited, browser sessions, feature use, export outcomes, device type, country, referring page, and campaign parameters. We do not include message text or rendered media in analytics. Some of this is measured by us directly and some through Google Analytics; see “Cookies and Your Choices” below.
If you consent to analytics, these events are associated with a random identifier stored in your browser and, when you are signed in, your account. If you decline, nothing is stored on or read from your device at all. We instead count those visits using a key our server derives from your IP address and browser type combined with a random daily value. That value is deleted after two days, after which the records cannot be linked to each other or back to you — so we still see how many people hit a page and whether exports are failing, but not who you are or that you came back.
Temporary shared drafts: If you create a draft through our API, MCP connector, ChatGPT plugin, or another shared-link workflow, we store the draft’s message text and settings so the private-by-link editor URL can open it. Anyone with that random URL can access the draft until it expires, so do not put secrets or sensitive personal information in it.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Service
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password resets)
- To understand acquisition, reliability, and product use through privacy-limited analytics
3. Your Content
Conversations you type directly into the editor are processed and saved in your browser unless you explicitly save them to your account or use a shared-draft link. Account projects and temporary shared drafts are stored so you can retrieve them. Exported videos are generated client-side and are not uploaded to us. We do not use message text for advertising or analytics.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Stripe — for payment processing
- Google Analytics 4 — for site usage measurement
- Google Ads — to measure which advertisements lead to sign-ups, and to show our advertisements. Used only with your advertising consent.
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — the Meta Pixel, for the same purpose. Loaded only with your advertising consent.
- Google Identity Services — only when you choose Google to create or access your account
- Cloudflare — for hosting and content delivery
Google and Meta process this data as independent controllers under their own policies, and may transfer it to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses. We never send them the text of your conversations or your exported video.
Purchase confirmations from our servers: when a subscription payment completes, we report that purchase to Google Analytics and to Meta from our own servers as well as from your browser, because the browser step is often lost. That report includes the purchase amount, the checkout identifier, and — for Meta only — a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address, which lets Meta match the purchase to an advertisement without receiving the address itself. This happens only if you consented to the corresponding category. Declining in the cookie settings stops the server-side report as well as the in-browser one.
5. Cookies and Your Choices
We group cookies and similar storage into three categories:
- Essential — sign-in, security, and remembering your cookie choice. Always on; the Service does not work without them.
- Analytics — Google Analytics (
_ga,_gid), to see which pages get used and where exports fail. - Advertising — Google Ads (
_gcl*) and the Meta Pixel (_fbp,_fbc), to measure and target advertising.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising stay off until you turn them on. Elsewhere they run until you turn them off. Either way you can change your answer at any time — withdrawing is exactly as easy as consenting, and takes effect immediately:
We implement Google Consent Mode, so when you decline, the Google tag sets no cookies and sends only aggregate, non-identifying signals. We also honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal as an opt-out of advertising cookies, without requiring you to interact with any banner.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. Temporary shared drafts expire after 30 days. Raw product analytics are retained for 90 days. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting support@texting.video. Upon deletion, account data will be removed within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal, security, or payment obligations.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, contact support@texting.video.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, our legal basis is your consent for analytics and advertising cookies, contractual necessity for providing the Service, and legitimate interest for security and fraud prevention. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
If you are a California, Colorado, Connecticut, or Virginia resident: we do not sell personal information for money, but the advertising cookies described above may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under those laws. The cookie settings control on every page is our opt-out mechanism, and we honour Global Privacy Control automatically. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notice.
